Pedestrian hurt in accident in Hager Heights parking lot

HAGER CITY - A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of the Hager Heights Drive-In Restaurant Saturday afternoon.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department report, at 3:27 p.m. Jacob Knecht, 48, of Minneapolis was standing at the driver's side window of a 2007 Saturn speaking to the occupant when he was struck from the side by a 1997 Dodge Ram truck driven by Jerry Sullivan, 77, of Bay City. Sullivan was looking for a parking spot coming into the parking lot from 170th Ave.

Knecht was reportedly knocked to the ground in front of the Saturn. He was transported by Red Wing Ambualnce from the scene to the hospital in Red Wing with undetermined injuries. Pierce County Sheriff's officials were assisted on the scene by Red Wing Fire and Ambulance. 

The accident is still under investigation.
