Pedestrian hit by vehicle at Hager Heights Restaurant
A vehicle struck a pedestrian in a Trenton Township restaurant parking lot at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Pierce County Sheriff's Department reported.
Jacob F. Knecht, 48, Minneapolis, was standing in the parking lot of the Hager Heights Restaurant, near the intersection of highways 63 and 35. He was at the driver's side window of a vehicle, speaking to its occupant when he was struck by a 1997 Dodge Ram pick-up driven by Jerry J. Sullivan, 77, Bay City.
The impact caused Knecht to be pushed forward; he ended up on the ground in front of the parked vehicle. Knecht was transported by Red Wing Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing with undetermined injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
