Peder Husbyn, 87, of Goodhue
Funeral services for Peder Husbyn will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Minneola Lutheran Church with the Rev. Sarah Nietz officiating. Burial will follow in the Zumbrota Cemetery. Mr. Husbyn, 87, of Goodhue, died Friday, May 15, 2009, at his home.
Peder Berdiene Husbyn was born Nov. 25, 1921, in Minneola Township.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Husbyn was a retired carpenter, and had worked for John Matthees Construction. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, gardening, playing cards, and farming.
He is survived by two sons, Burton (Ann) Husbyn, and Scott (Sue) Husbyn; a brother, Edwin Husbyn, all of Zumbrota; five grandchildren, Brandon (Amy), Kristie (Carlos Jimenez) Clark, Lindsay, Ashley (Scott) Linaman, and Missy (Kevin Nelson) Husbyn; seven great-grandchildren, Travis and Peder Husbyn, Sara and Brittany Clark, Zack and Hannah Linaman, and Ali Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Scharpen) Husbyn, and two sisters, Gladys Steege and Evelyn Thompson.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Mahn Family Funeral Homes, Larson Chapel in Zumbrota. The visitation will continue Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
