EHS held big leads in all three games and when the Spartans made a run at them in both games one and three the Panthers responded strong to win.

"Finishing strong was something the team wanted to do a better job of this season and they certainly did so tonight," Ellsworth head coach Nciole VanderBerg said. "They were pressed a couple of times and responded well."

The Spartans cut a 19-12 Ellsworth lead to just two at 20-18 and 24-22 in the first game and then to just one at 24-23 after a pair of kiills from freshman Tori Martell. But Ellsworth's Katelyn Kannel, the school's Hoemcoming queen for 2013, responded with to end game one with a 25-23 EHS win. She also served up the last point with an ace ain game three.

Ellsworth's Megan Schroeder returned to the line-up from injury and had an impressive performance in both kills and assists. Tacia Kuhl had three straight aces to lead the Panthers to a 9-4 lead in the game three.
