HAGER CITY - The Ellsworth High School baseball team improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the Middle Border Conference after winning in dramatic fashion over New Richmond Thursday at Brown Field.

Eric McGregor's RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh broke a 5-5 tie. Ellsworth rallied from a 5-3 deficit in the sixth with a pair runs which tied the game in the seventh.

The Panthers Logan Armstrong got the win in relief of starter Brady Yanisch. He kept the Tigers' offense quiet in the late innings while Ellsworth went to work at the plate.

Nick Taranto led Ellsworth with three hits while Jonah Conway had two hits. Taranto and Dennis Schutz both had two RBIs.  Yanisch struck out seven batters.
