PAC to consider mining ban Monday
The Goodhue County Planning Advisory Commission will consider a one-year extension to the county's mining moratorium at a meeting 6 p.m. Monday in the Jury Assembly room of the Justice Center, 454 W. Sixth St,
The county's Mining Study Committee already voted not to extend the moratorium beyond its Sept. 6 end date at a meeting July 8. Committee members Bernie Overby, John Hobert, Joan Volz , Rich Ellingsberg, John Litsenberger and Howard Stenerson voted in favor of ending the ban. Roseanne Grosso and John Tittle were the two dissenters. Ken Kuhn was not present.
The PAC's decision will then be brought to County Board for final approval.
