AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.10 WHICH CONCERNS OPERATION OF CERTAIN VEHICLES ON CITY STREETS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED WING ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 8.10 of City Code is hereby amended by adopting a new Section 8.10, and renumbering current Section 8.10 and 8.11 to 8.11 and 8.12 respectively as shown below:
SECTION 8.10.MINI-TRUCKS.
Subd. 1.Permit Required. Mini-trucks as defined in Minn. Stat. ยง169.011, subd. 40a, are hereby allowed on the streets of the City of Red Wing not subject to the State of Minnesota jurisdiction, so long as a permit is obtained pursuant to this section, and the mini- truck complies with the terms of this section.
Subd. 2.Application. Anyone desiring a permit to operate a mini-truck on City streets pursuant to this section shall submit an application in the following form:

on City Streets of Red Wing
1.Date.
2.Applicant name and address.
3.Street(s) on which applicant will drive.
4.Time periods within which applicant will drive.
5.Insurance company and policy number.
6.Signature of applicant.
Subd. 3.Duties of Police Chief. The Police Chief of the City of Red Wing shall be the issuing officer for permits under this section. Upon approval, the Police Chief may designate on the permit the streets of operation and the hours of operation, as the officer determines is in the public safety interest.
Subd. 4.Other Requirements.
A.Permits shall be issued for a period not to exceed one year and may be renewed annually.
B.A permit may be revoked at any time if there is evidence that the permittee cannot safely operate a mini-truck on the designated roadway.
SECTION 2:Current Section 8.10 of the City Code governing City of Red Wing Motorized Carts is renumbered Section 8.11
SECTION 3. Current Section 8.11 of the City Code governing penalties is renumbered Section 8.12.
SECTION 4: Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its adoption and publication in accordance with the City Charter.
