AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.10 WHICH CONCERNS
OPERATION OF CERTAIN CITY VEHICLES ON CITY STREETS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED WING ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 8.10 of City Code is hereby amended by deleting the overstruck language and inserting the underlined language as shown below:
SECTION 8.10.CITY OF RED WING MOTORIZED CARTS AND
The City of Red Wing shall be permitted to operate City-owned Cushman Haulster, Toro Workman or similar motorized carts for the purposes of City maintenance or city business, on City streets in addition to being operated on private property. These carts shall be equipped with flashing yellow warning lights to the front and rear and/or a yellow or blue flashing light on top and a slow-moving vehicle emblem to the rear. The City of Red Wing shall also be permitted to operate City-owned mini-trucks, as defined in Minn. Stat. § 169.011, subd. 40a, for the purposes of recycling collection or other City business. Only authorized City personnel with a valid drivers license shall operate motorized carts or mini-trucks. The City shall be exempt from the permit requirements contained in this ordinance.
SECTION 2: Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its adoption and publication in accordance with the City Charter.
