ELLSWORTH -- After defeating the Tigers in New Richmond's quad meet Tuesday, the Ellsworth girls track team was stung with defeat Friday at the Fuller Invitational.

New Richmond edged Ellsworth 169-138.5 in the team standings, with Cannon Falls placing fifth in the eight-team meet with 72.5 points.

Along with the girls title, New Richmond finished first in the boys meet with 218.83 points. Ellsworth placed seventh with 59 points and Cannon Falls eighth at 41.83.

New Richmond's girls team won four of five relay races. Ellsworth placed second in the 1,600-meter run and 1,600 relay medley, third in the 4x100 relay and fourth in the 4x200 relay.

The Panthers had several individual first-place winners, led by Chelsea Hanson in the 400 (one minute, 40 seconds).

Morgan Place won the 3,200 in 12:01.70 and Rachel Langer won the 300 hurdles (51.20).

Megan Rinke won the pole vault with a height of 8-feet, and Sam Huggett tied for first in the high jump at 4-10.
