Neil Richter, 80";
Neil Wilfred Richter, 80, of Red Wing, died Monday, Sept. 23, at the Seminary Home in Red Wing.
He was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Red Wing, the son of William and Edna (Pohl) Richter. He attended Red Wing Schools and worked on the family farm for several years. He served in the National Guard and on Jan. 12, 1957, he married Darlene Hanson in Iowa.
He worked for Larson-Quinn in Red Wing for 20 years, then owned and operated Richter Repair and operated a construction company until his retirement. For the past two years he was a resident of the Seminary Home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the family Hog Roast, car racing and being with family and his dogs.
Survivors include three children: Dean (Lori) Richter of Hager City, Brenda (Jerry) Fulton of Zumbrota, and Deborah Prebe of Red Wing; seven grandchildren: Nick, Anina and Ali Richter, Derrick Seyffer, Amanda (Les) Hilleshiem, and Jessica & Jason Prebe; three great-grandchildren: Landen and Kylie Hilleshiem and Henry Schumacher; three step-grandchildren: Nick Fulton, Krystal and Katlyn Huppert; two sisters: Lorena (Ronald) Traynor of Ellsworth, and Beverly Richter of Red Wing; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Lassie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene; two sisters, Lois M. Firl, and Joan Richter.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Eugene Hasselquist officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, and on Friday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
