Movie premiere is red carpet event
The Red Carpet World Premiere of "Entr'Acte" will be Nov. 7 at the Sheldon Theatre.
The premiere is planned as a community event -- in keeping with the fact that "Entr'Acte" is a community production. Written exclusively for Red Wing, it was filmed here over the summer. The cast consists entirely of local residents.
Festivities will begin when cast and crew arrive in style around 4:30 p.m. for a red carpet welcome. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be served, and there will be a cash bar at the theater.
The movie, a romantic comedy written, directed and filmed by Scott Thompson of My Town Pictures, will be shown at 6 p.m. Two short films with local ties also will be screened.
General admission tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for students. They can be ordered by calling (651) 388-8700 or going online to www.sheldontheatre.org.
Following the showing, a gala reception is planned in the Summit at the St. James Hotel starting around 8 p.m.
There'll be more food and live music by the Mark Kreitzer Band out of Minneapolis. Kreitzer is an award winning multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, plus he's a member of the Minnesota Rock and Country Hall of Fame. He has recorded and performed with some of the top names in the bluegrass genre, and is well known on the "Prairie Home Companion" stage.
In addition, the gala
will have silent and oral auctions, including a raffle of the "Annie Sheldon" garnet and diamond
necklace created for the premiere by DeLeon jewelers.
Tickets to the adults-only reception are $35; they also are available at the Sheldon. Deadline to purchase these tickets is Oct. 25.
