Master Gardener training offered this fall
University of Wisconsin-Extension will hold Level 1 General Master Gardener training starting Sept. 11, covering topics such as basic botany, soil science, plant diseases and insects.
Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who help others learn about gardening and the environment. To become certified in Wisconsin, participants must attend 36 hours of classroom education, complete 24 hours of community service and pass a background check and final exam.
Classes will be held on eight Thursday evenings and two Saturday mornings this fall. For more information, contact the Pierce County UW-Extension office at 715-273-6781 or visit www.pierce.uwex.edu.
