Marjorie Willie, 90
Marjorie Marie Willie, of Red Wing MN died on Wednesday May 28. She was born the daughter of Charles M. Schultz and Julia Erickson Schultz on July 4, 1923 in Brockton, Mont. She graduated from the Brockton School System in 1940 and attended one year at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. After Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, she left school and moved to Seattle where she worked for the Army Corps of Engineers from 1942-1944. She moved back to Minnesota and worked at the Evangelical Lutheran Church Headquarters in Minneapolis from 1945-1948.
She married Norman Nelsen in 1948 and moved to Willmar where they lived until 1960. They moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, in 1961 and lived there until 1964, when they moved to Red Wing, Minn. Norman passed away in 1979. She met and married Donald (Speck) Willie in 1981 and he passed away in 1989. After moving to Red Wing, Marge worked at Central Research Laboratories from 1964 - 1985, when she retired as Secretary to the President.
Marge was an active member of United Lutheran Church and the Deborah Circle, the Sons of Norway and The American Legion Auxiliary.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and son, David Nelsen.
Marge is survived by her sister, Sally Stilson of Meridian, Idaho; her son, Richard of Minneapolis; her daughter, Janet (Merlin) of Wanamingo, Minn.; her grandchildren: Amy Dougherty, Tina Lampman, Jeffrey Nelsen, Jonathan Morken, Eric Morken and Shelly Skog; five great grandsons; two great-granddaughters; nieces, nephews and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, at United Lutheran Church with a light lunch to follow.
Memorial gifts are preferred to the Stephen's Ministry at United Lutheran Church or Hospice.
