Lillian J. "Lil" Kohn, 95
Lillian J. "Lil" Kohn, 95, long-time Red Wing resident, died Saturday, July 12, in Denver, Colorado.
Lil was born Oct. 1, 1918, in Trimbelle, Wis., and grew up on a farm. She was the oldest of five children. She moved to Red Wing where she met the first of her three husbands, Jack Petersen. They moved to Green Bay, Wis., where they had two sons, Jack and Jeff. Lil met her second husband, Marvin Kohn, when she moved back to Red Wing. Following Marvin's death, she married Ernest Brostrom. Lil worked for 28 years at the JC Penney Store and was an active member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, traveling, dancing, story telling, furniture restoration, and card playing.
She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by a brother, Kenneth (Beverly) Anderson of Hollywood, Fla.; two sons, Jack (Sharon) Petersen of Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Jeffery (Jill Wolfe) Petersen of Englewood, Colo.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held in Denver, Colorado, followed by interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minnesota.
