Letter: Support a safe, fun graduation night
To the editor:
After walking across the stage and receiving their diplomas on June 7, 140 members of the class of 2013 gathered to celebrate their graduation at the YMCA.
The YMCA was transformed into a magical night of entertainment and fun. At 2:30 a.m., the seniors walked out tired but with a wonderful, safe and fun graduation night memory!
Everyone had the time and chance to celebrate together, socialize, play great games and win prizes. Some received prizes such as iPods, Futons, flat-screen TVs, luggage, small appliances, gift certificates, savings bonds and/or cash.
With the help of many local businesses, parents, alumni and community members, we have been able to give the graduating seniors an unforgettable night during which to celebrate their high school graduation. Thank you to the many contributors that have helped us achieve this goal. We have been so fortunate to be able to provide this opportunity for 30 years running!
The planning for our 31st all-night graduation party has started. Your help is needed to make June 6 a success for the class of 2014. Although money is raised through tickets that each attending senior buys, cash donations are still necessary to purchase decorations, prizes and refreshments. Gift donations are also appreciated.
The success of this year's graduation party depends on your very generous contribution. The graduates and the fundraising committee thank you for your support in making this a safe and memorable experience for the graduates.
