Letter: President Obama appears to be absent without official leave

Email

To the Editor:

We’ve heard from “Baghdad Bob” Jay Carney the president learned about Fast and Furious, IRS, NSA and the VA debacle from the media. As president, Barack Obama has access to a myriad of sources at his finger tips to keep him current on affairs of state. So either Carney is lying or this is the laziest president to take up space in the Oval Office. Perhaps it’s both.

Last Monday, May 19, the president had two appointments on his calendar (it’s in the public record): lunch with the VP at 12:30 p.m. and a Democratic Party fundraising event at 7:30 p.m.

Does that sound like the schedule of an engaged chief executive or someone so indifferent to his job that he would be fired in the private sector?

It’s no wonder not one person has been held accountable for scandals that seem to emerge on a monthly basis. They’re not accountable because their boss is AWOL.

While none of the above mentioned issues has Obama’s signature, paper trail or direct order on them, there is an odor and stench emanating from the Oval Office. It is clear to this hick that the people who are committing these “high crimes and misdemeanors” are his minions. They are enthusiastic trying to accomplish Obama’s socialist Utopian plans.

Regarding the emerging VA scandal, there is no doubt Obama intends to morph the Affordable Care Act into a single-payer government-run bureaucracy like Medicaid and Medicare. No one knows just how many are “enrolled” (no longer customers), if they have paid their premiums (not a legal agreement) or even how many actually would have had insurance without the ACA.

As one who has lived through single-payer, government-run health care in Canada, there are shortages of doctors, shortages of medical technology, shortages of access to health care and death panels. As our abused veterans have learned, they have a health care plan … just don’t get old and don’t get really sick.
