Letter: Help feed hungry families right here in Red Wing

To The Editor:

March is Food Share Month all across MN.  It draws attention to the need of more than 300 food pantries to fill the shelves now at the end of winter. In January alone 314 households from the Red Wing area came to our food shelf for one week’s groceries. Our Red Wing goals are to collect over 12,000 pounds and more than $20,000. We are counting on congregations, businesses, schools, community groups, families and individuals to help us.

Food donations can be brought to the Red Wing Area food shelf at 1755 Old West Main on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-6PM, Fridays 12-1PM, or by appointment, call any of us. If you prefer to make a financial donation checks should be made to the “Red Wing Area Food Shelf”.  A $5 donation is worth $20 when we order from our food bank, Channel One, in Rochester.
