To the Editor:
One of my favorite passages from Scripture is found in the prophet Jeremiah, where he, only a youth, questioned whether he was the "man for the job." Jeremiah says, "Ah Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth." But the Lord said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a youth'; for to all to whom I send you you shall speak. Be not afraid of them.'"
Joe Fricke assumes the role of one so commissioned.
Young he may be, but he comes bearing the gifts of youth: fresh ideas and vision, new approaches to solutions of community problems of educational, financial, gender-equanimous and job-related import. He is a graceful listener (without interrupting), compassionately focused on a "budget-in-balance" and pursues the course of fashioning laws which will reflect the wants and needs of the people of our state now and for generations to come.
Joe Fricke dons the aegis of a good prophet in our times. Let's be willing to risk-a-bit and go for him in November.
