Legion Baseball: Red Wing falls to Lakeville North

The Red Wing Post 54 Legion baseball team fell 5-0 to Lakeville North Tuesday in Lakeville.

Post 54 was held to three hits in the loss. Gunnar Tubbs went 1-for-2, Ricky Turcotte was 1-for-3 and Michael Bigelbach finished 1-for-3 for Red Wing (7-5).

Lakeville scored a run in the first inning, one in the second inning, two in the third inning and one in the fifth inning.

“They’re a good team,” Post 54 head coach Justin Plein said. “They were a state team in the high school season.”

Red Wing played without Preston Blaney, Josh Gadient and Zach Lang. Thate Peterson injured his knee during the second inning Tuesday.

Post 54 will play Northfield Sunday in Dundas and host a doubleheader against Chanhassen Monday at the Red Wing Athletic Field.
