Lawrence-Bohmbach recognized by Chamber
Jay Bohmbach, president of Lawrence-Bohmbach Insurance Agency, is quite pleased with the validation his company recently received in being named the service business of the year by the Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce.
"I feel it's the finest achievement this agency has gained since my involvement," Bohmbach said.
He said he even choked up a little when the during the chamber's award ceremony in January.
Bohmbach credited his staff -- the company has 14 employees -- for earning the award.
"They deserve this," he said. "They work hard."
Lawrence-Bohmbach setup shop in Red Wing in 1960. Bohmbach joined the agency in the mid-1980s. In 2002, the company merged with C.O. Brown out of Rochester.
Still the company maintains all the trappings of a local company, Bohmbach said, including its local office located at 620 Main St.
Bohmbach said service - genuine service - is behind his company's success. He said it doesn't matter how many insurance policies the company inks. If the company doesn't keep its customers happy, it won't continue doing business with them.
"The whole key is service," Bohmbach said.
