Kenyon woman recovering from car crash

A Kenyon woman is recovering from a head-on car crash that occurred Wednesday night on Highway 60 near 70th Avenue, between Kenyon and Wanamingo.

Laurie Sibley, 49, was listed in critical condition after the crash, according to Minnesota State Patrol. She had been upgraded to good condition by Thursday morning, according to St. Mary's Hospital.

The collision happened at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday. Betty Bennett, 69, Zumbrota, was traveling eastbound on Highway 60 when her van crossed the centerline and collided with Sibley's car, according to the state patrol.

Authorities detected alcohol on Bennett, according to the state patrol. Bennett suffered minor injuries.

The highway was closed for two hours after the crash. Goodhue County Sheriff, Zumbrota Ambulance and Wanamingo first responders also reported to the scene.
