Jennie V. Conley, 91, of Owatonna, Minn., formerly of Red Wing, died Tuesday at the St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn. Born March 26, 1917, the daughter of Grace (Frattalone) and Pasquale Bonasera in St. Paul, Minn., she owned and operated Bonasera's Beauty Shop in St. Paul with her sister. She married William Conley Aug. 28, 1945, in St. Paul, upon his return from World War II. They would move to the Lock and Dam #3 on Prairie Island in Red Wing where they would stay for 24 years raising their family. For several years during this time she was the manager of Claude's Beauty Nook in Red Wing until opening a shop in her home. She would retire from the beauty shop in 1984, when they began to travel and spend time at their winter residence in Mesa, AZ. She would move to Owatonna in 1998.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Owatonna and the VFW Auxiliary in Red Wing. She loved to do crafts, dance, and play bingo.
Survivors include her children, William T. (Carole) of Tower, Minn., Edward W. (Jeri) of Burnsville, Minn. and Gayle (Donovan) Seitz of Owatonna; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one stepson, Robert; four sisters, Rose Bonasera, Connie Porianda, Grace Stevens, Mary Huss and a brother, Joseph.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mary Mother of the Church, Burnsville, Minn. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William M. Conley, Donovan Seitz Jr., Brandon and Joshua Seitz, Nathan and Shawn Conley, Brady Seitz and Chase Cardenas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kessler and Maguire, 640 W. 7th St. St. Paul, Minn. and one hour prior to service at the church. Kessler and Maguire Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
