James L. Reding, age 62, of Amery, Wis., passed away on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 19, after a three year battle with cancer.
He was born July 23, 1951, to Luverne "Skip" Reding and Margery (Opem) Reding in Red Wing, Minn.
James worked for the City of Red Wing for numerous years until the summer of 2000 when he moved to Amery. He was a proud and active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 27 years, who loved to help and inspire others during their road to recovery. He enjoyed spending his summers fishing the lakes of Wisconsin and the winters snowmobiling.
James is survived by his father Skip; his daughters Jennifer (Reding) Staten, and Rebecca Reding; 4 grandchildren; his brothers Thomas, Peter, Robert, Paul, and Father Michael Reding; his sister Jean (Reding) Jensen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Margery; and one grandchild.
A celebration of James' life will be held starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at Living Word Chapel in Gleenwood City, Wis. A memorial service will take place at 12 p.m. with a luncheon to follow.
