Highway 61 open house is July 16
The city of Red Wing will host an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday July 16 at the St. James Hotel to discuss the Highway 61/Main Street project.
The city and Minnesota Department of Transportation are planning to reconstruct Highway 61 between Old West Main Street and Potter Street beginning in 2015. The open house will allow the public to learn about and provide input on issues including the roadway layout, construction staging and the streetscape plan.
This is the last public input opportunity during the preliminary design phase, focused on what will be constructed, the Red Wing Engineering Department said. The final design phase soon will be under way and will continue through November 2014, focused on how the project will be constructed.
The meeting will be an open house format. Contact Jay Owens, city of Red Wing engineer, at 651-385-3625 with questions. More information about the project is available at www.red-wing.org/th61home.html.
