A person was rescued off of Barn Bluff’s northeast side Tuesday morning. Radio chatter indicated that the victim had been injured while on the bluff and was unable hike back out.

Rescue crews from Red Wing Police, Red Wing Fire Department and  Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office were first dispatched to the scene at about 10 a.m.

A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter arrived around 10:45 and lowered two rescue workers onto the bluff. The helicopter then picked up the victim in a basket.

The victim was loaded into a waiting Red Wing ambulance near the Red Wing Wastewater Treatment Plant.
