Harold A. Roude, 89, of Ellsworth
Harold A. Roude, 89, of Ellsworth, passed away Sunday at Red Wing Health Center. He was born in Trenton Township on Aug. 25, 1919, to Charles and Christine (Peterson) Roude. Harold was united in marriage to Lorraine Stockwell on June 30, 1962, at Bible Center Church, Rush River. He worked for two farm implements in Ellsworth;and then he worked for the Pierce County Highway Department. He also farmed at his home place. Harold enjoyed making things from wood like tables, cars, candy dishes, little crosses, a spinning wheel, and a grandfather clock. He was also a very good mechanic; he could make anything work again. He especially liked old engines. He was always ready to help neighbors and friends with their machinery problems. Harold was a welder by trade and was an avid fisherman and gardener. Harold and his wife enjoyed traveling together throughout the United States.
Harold is survived by his wife, Lorraine; brother-in-law, Leon (Nona) Stockwell; and cousins Leon and Ken Morrison and Roman and Roger "Huns" Peterson; and further survived by many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service for Harold will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Covenant Church in Ellsworth with Pastor Corey Johnsrud officiating. Interment will be in Trenton Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hill Funeral Home and again one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at church.
