Goodhue selects three superintendent finalists
Goodhue Public Schools has selected three finalists for its superintendent position. The school board chose the finalists after conducting first-round interviews late last month.
Returning for second-round interviews will be: Michael Harvey, current Goodhue High School principal; Kathleen Mortensen, Brooklyn Center (Minn.) district administrator; and Michael Redmond, executive director of secondary education in Stillwater, Minn.
Harvey will be interviewed May 8, Redmond May 9 and Mortensen May 15. Each interviewee will meet with community and staff from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. before a board interview at 4:30.
Both the meet and greets and board interviews are open to the public, and the board is encouraging the community to come and meet each of the finalists.
Current Supt. Bob Bangtson announced his retirement in January. The district hopes to have the new superintendent officially begin July 1.
