Goodhue County Education District Board
2013-14 budget approved
The board approved a preliminary budget for fiscal year 2014. The new budget shows total expenditures of about $7.7 million; just up from 2012-12 adopted budget of about $6.5 million.
Business Manager Jackie Paradis said in a note to board members that the preliminary budget assumes costs associated to moving all alternative learning programs under the GCED umbrella as well as staffing changes and salary increases.

New hires: Stacey Anderson, DCD teacher, Michael Bell, PE/DAPE; Tara Chapa, CHI administrative assistant; Molly Dodge, EBD teacher; Patti Flynn, paraprofessional; Melanie Hines, EBD teacher; Margaret Hogan, school psychologist; Christina Hughes, speech language pathologist; Kris Jurgensen, administrative assistant/third party billing coordinator; Min Martin Oakes, EC coordinator; Jen Nerison, EBD teacher; Sharon Noble, DSEC; Anne Pflaum, parent educator; Carol Redmond, instructional coach; Amanda Roper, EC teacher; Laura Shae, speech language pathologist.
Retirement: Gregg Hilde, school psychologist.
Thursday's meeting lasted about two hours. All board members were present.
