Building department recognized
Staff was recognized for working to educate the public about building code aspects in the county and for participating with statewide organizations, Hoium said.
AMBO, a nonprofit state chapter of the International Code Council, announced the award at a membership meeting in February.

•Commissioners approved an agreement with the Goodhue Community Fire Truck Association to use space in the fire hall, 110 Third Ave., Goodhue, as a backup county dispatch center in case of an emergency.
•The board agreed to a Minnesota Department of Transportation reimbursement program to cover preliminary engineering costs for repairing a damaged retaining wall on County Road 7 north of Welch. Flooding in 2012 caused the retaining wall to fail.
Tuesday’s County Board meeting was a brisk 22 minutes. All commissioners were present.
