Good weather sets fair up for big weekend

Another year of almost perfect weather has the Pierce County Fair set for a big weekend of attendance.

With the forecast for Saturday and Sunday practically the same as Friday's, sizeable crowds should be expected as there were Friday evening for the annual tractor pull and FFA livestock auction.

The big grandstand event for Saturday is the annual Ellsworth Funsters Demolition Derby, which begins at 7 p.m. It is one of the largest single date attended gatherings in the county drawing nearly 3,000 fans to the fair's grandstand every year.

Other Saturday events including the finals of the Pierce County Talent Show at 11 a.m. at the picnic pavillion, The Little Dairyman's Show at 12:30 p.m. in Arena Barn along with afternoon shows from Pickles the Clown in the Gazebo, Vicky Emerson in the Picnic Shelter, magician Jared Sherlock, also in the Picnic Shelter. This evening there will be karoke in the social garden starting at 7:30 p.m. Lizzy the Dream Girl hypnotist will also perform in the picnic shelter at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
