Give to the Max, boost community, be happy

To the Editor:

This week marks the fifth anniversary of Minnesota’s Give to the Max Day.

On Thursday, Nov. 14, hundreds of non-profit organizations from across the state will be reaching out through social media and events to get people engaged and supporting their efforts. More than $75 million has been raised over the years which in turn has made these many organizations more effective at reaching out and serving  their local communities.

Locally, non-profit organizations will be gathering at the Red Wing Family YMCA from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Come and see first-hand the good work that is being done every day by these fine organizations.

There will be computers set up to assist you in making a donation and lots of people available to answer your questions.

You can also make a donation from your home. Just search Give to the Max and look for the organization you would like to contribute to.

And the best part? You will actually feel better by knowing that you have helped out the community.

Studies have shown that making a donation can actually make you happier. So please consider being part of this great event. We can all work together to make our community stronger and more vibrant.
