Girls Basketball: Freshman trio helps Lake City get by Z-M

With help from freshmen Daynalyn Jostock, Laura Heitman and Julia Anderson, Lake City held on for a slim 47-46 Hiawatha Valley League victory Friday over Zumbrota-Mazeppa.

Jostock finished with 10 points, Heitman finished with seven, and Anderson gave the Tigers quality minutes, according to head coach Candace Dudley. Breanna Gates led Lake City with 12 points, and Madi Green finished with nine. 

Carley Henning had a game-high 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Cougars, while Hailey Dykes and Kalli Paukert finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively. 

Lake City (7-5, 3-4 HVL) stays at home Tuesday against Pine Island while Z-M (3-8, 2-6 HVL) hosts Goodhue on Tuesday.
