Garage damaged, house spared in fire
Red Wing Fire Department responded to a garage fire early Wednesday morning.
At 7:04 a.m. the RWFD received a call reporting a fire at 677 21st St., according to a statement by RWFD acting Captain Scott Meyers.
Meyers said the fire was extinguished within approximately 30 minutes of their arrival on scene with no resulting injuries.
The garage sustained significant damage and the cold weather did hinder the responders’ efforts, but the house was spared of any damage, according to Meyers.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Two fire engines, one ladder truck and one ambulance responded and 13 full-time and two paid on-call firefighters worked at the scene for two hours, Meyers said.
