Extra DWI enforcement planned for December
Law enforcement will be stepping up DWI patrolling in December, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign began Friday. The effort will include about 8,500 extra hours of DWI patrols on the road, officials said.
During the past three years December has been the peak month for alcohol-related crashes, the DPS said, with 1,097 crashes resulting in 24 fatalities.
