Falconer Vineyards

Music in the Vines concert series at Falconer Vineyards features fingerstyle guitarists Michael Young of Minneapolis and Sandor Szabo from Hungary. Young, who plays both six- and 12-string guitar, has performed around the country, including the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and New York City venues. Szabo initially studied classical guitar, blends classical and folk styles in his performances and on three CDs.

'The Violin'

A Mexican film, "The Violin," will be July's Second Saturday movie at Lake Pepin Art & Design Center in Pepin. The 2008 film, which is unrated and subtitled, was directed by Francisco Vargas; it may not be suitable for young viewers.

The film is about Don Plutarco and his son and grandson, who lead a double life. They are musicians and humble farmers, but they also support the peasant guerilla movement's armed efforts against the oppressive government.

Old Pine Theatre
