Emerson releases new 'Long Ride' CD
Vicky Emerson, a singer-songwriter with roots in rural Elmwood is releasing a new album, "Long Ride," reflecting her new take on Americana music.
A release concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Mabel Tainter Theater in Menomonie, Wis. Appearing with her will be the All Man Band.
Emerson has been living in Manhattan and touring the country in recent years. The new album was recorded in June in Minneapolis.
According to a press release, listeners will hear a shift from a sound with traditional country nuances to a new blend that was influenced by contemporaries including Lucinda Williams and Lyle Lovett.
"Long Ride" is her third release on her Triad Entertainment label.
