Emergency drill to take place at nuclear plant

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety and several other state and county agencies will participate in a simulated nuclear incident drill Tuesday May 8 at Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant.

The drill will test the capabilities of all agencies to take action in a real emergency.

Field activities will be held in Dakota and Goodhue counties in Minnesota and Pierce County in Wisconsin.

Residents in the area should not be alarmed by emergency responders carrying out their duties during the exercise.
