Ellsworth and Prescott await their pairings for the 2013 Wisconsin Baseball Association playoffs which will be made this evening.

The regional tournaments are next weekend and the state tournament the following weekend in Osceola.

The regional sites this year are Osceola, Coon Valley, Altoona and Rib Lake.

Prescott won the St. Croix Division of the St. Croix Valley League with a 10-3 win at home vs. Bay City last weekend but Ellsworth will go into the playoffs with some  momentum after a come from behind win against the Pirates at Firehalld Field Sunday.

The Hubbers came back from an early deficit to beat Prescott 13-8. Mitch Johnson was the winning pitcher, going all nine innings. Jake Betthauser led Ellsworth at the plate with three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Scott DeWyre hit a double, drove in three runs and scored three times himself. And Lance Hove had two hits, including a double and three RBIs.

The outcome was a reversal from the first meeting between the two clubs last month when Prescott overturned a 6-1 Hubbers lead in the final two innings for an 8-6 win.

The win also helped the Hubbers earn a share of the St. Croix Division title, it's first division title since 2010.

Because Prescott and Osceola did not finish their suspended game from last month, both teams were given a loss in the SCVL standings even though Prescott led 2-0 in the fifth inning.  Acording to WBA rules, all games are to be completed by the Sunday before the seeding meeting to count-- any games not completed by that date are to be counted as a loss for both teams. So Prescott has a 13-3 record along with the Hubbers atop the division. Osceola finished 7-8 but makes the playoffs as regional hosting team.
