The first Middle Border Conference prep girls golf meet and indeed the first meet of the season took place Monday at the Ellsworth Country Club.

Prescott placed sixth and Ellsworth seventh. The official team scores for the meet were New Richmond 183, Osceola 186, Baldwin-Woodville 205, St. Croix Central 213, Prescott 228, Ellsworth 281 and Amery 360.

Ellsworth's Aubrey Langer placed fourth individually, shooting a nine-hole 45 on her home course tying with St. Croix Central's Arinn DiSalvo. Osceola's Casey Danielson placed first with a 35 and New Richmond's Alex Wheeler was next with a 39 to finish 1-2 in the meet. Baldwin-Woodville's Heidi Hinz was third with a 43.

Prescott's top golfer was Megan Westerberg as she shot a 53. Teammate Katie Filkins had a 54 followed by Hannah Lebakken's 60, Alanah Nelson's 61 and Emily Valentine's 62.

Ellsworth's Karissa Seibel shot a 56. The Panthers will compete at the New Richmond Invitational Wednesday.
