DOT to hold public meeting on replacing retaining walls in Maiden Rock
Officials from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Eau Claire office will be holding a public meeting on the planned project to replace a retaining wall along Highway 35 in Maiden Rock.
The meeting is scheduled from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct.1, at the Maiden Rock Village Hall, W3535 Highway 35.
Officials say the proposed project consists of replacing three retaining walls along Highway 35 between the southern limits of the village of Maiden Rock and 385th Street.
The proposed project will be split into two construction phases. The first will replace the wall on the east side of Highway 35 and the second will replace the wall on the west side of the highway.
Officials say the first phase of the project is currently scheduled for 2009.
DOT officials are encouraging the public to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display and DOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
Individuals unable to attend the meeting, but would like information can contact Wendy Maves at 715.836.3902. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Wendy Maves, WisDOT, 718 W. Clairmont, Eau Claire, WI 54701.
