District, union reach verbal agreement
The Red Wing School District and the local teachers union have reached a verbal agreement for the next two-year contract, district officials said.
Supt. Stan Slessor announced the tentative agreement at Monday's School Board meeting. District officials declined to release details of the agreement until after teachers were updated.
The teachers were expected to review and vote on the proposal the week of Jan. 4, Slessor said.
If teachers vote to approve the deal, School Board members will finalize the agreement at a special Jan. 11 meeting.
More details were expected to be released at the board's regular Jan. 4 meeting.
