Healthy Kids Day was Saturday at the Red Wing Family YMCA.
Healthy Kids Day is a national Initiative of the YMCA to improve the health and well-being of children. For many children, exposure to activities that keep the mind and body active decreases when school is out. The YMCA wants to help children and families stay physically and intellectually active during the summer.
The day in Red Wing included Drums Alive classes, jump roping, games and crafts. Families also could check out summer recreation options via interactive booths.
Partners in the event included ArtReach, Mayo Clinic Health Service in Red Wing, American Diabetes Association, March of Dimes, Girls on the Run of Bluff Country, Y-Pals, Red Wing Environmental Learning Center and Red Wing Community Education and Recreation.
