David E. Hovde, 41
David Erwin Hovde, 41, of Red Wing, died Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Red Wing Health Center.

David was born Nov. 21, 1972, in Red Wing, to Dennis and Lyn (Haugen) Hovde. He attended his schooling in Red Wing and Dumas, Texas, returning to Red Wing in 1983. David enjoyed BMX racing, baseball, wrestling and hockey. He loved going fishing and hunting and playing poker with his buddies. In 1989, he was involved in a motor vehicle accident and resided at the Red Wing Health Center until his passing. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, a big heart, and his love of children. David is safe with our Father in heaven now, and free from his earthly body-what joy he must feel!
He is survived by his father, Dennis (Tana) Hovde, and mother, Lyn Simmons both of Red Wing; sisters, Kari Rehder of Red Wing and Tiffany (Kai) Mayne of New Braunfels, Texas; nephews, David, Ryan, and Tristan Rehder of Red Wing, and Easton Mayne of New Braunfels, Texas; and aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with Reverend Kristi Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials are preferred to the Red Wing Health Center.
