David Denzer, 70, of Ellsworth
David Denzer, 70, of Ellsworth, died Monday, April 27, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Red Wing, Minn., on Feb. 12, 1939, to Henry and Anna Hazel (Buck) Denzer. David married Elaine "Louise" Lipscomb of Alabama. David belonged to the Lions Club of Ellsworth, he loved to go to auctions, and especially spending time working with his mules. He enjoyed reading and learning about the Civil War era; he loved history. He also enjoyed the outdoors and working at the Ellsworth Care Center.
David is survived by his wife, Elaine Denzer of Ellsworth; one daughter, Melissa (John) Wilson of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren: Megan, Jackie, and Teddy; two sisters: Henrietta Pechacek of River Falls and Helen (Harlyn) Puhrmann of River Falls; and one brother, Stanley (JoAnne) Denzer of Martell. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Diane; parents; a brother, William; and a brother-in-law, Bill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth, with Father Tom Donaldson officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and again one hour prior to the service Friday all at church.
