Culligan helps Haiti victims
Contaminated water is among the biggest risks in Haiti following the earthquake last month. The local Culligan dealer is participating in a corporate assistance effort.
"Culligan of Red Wing is a member of the Culligan Dealers Association of North Amercia. We as a group often contribute time and money to help provide safe drinking water to people in need when a tragic event occurs," Glen Craven said.
Culligan had more than 250,000 bottles of drinking water flown
to Haiti within days of the quake.
Last week, the company sent three high tech self-contained water purification systems. Each system produces 10 gallons of clean water per minute, providing 14,000 gallons of clean water every day.
The Minnesota Job Skills Partnership has awarded Capital Safety of Red Wing and Dakota County Technical College a $300,000 grant. The manufacturer of fall-protection equipment and the college with develop training related to green manufacturing practices, multicultural sales, wind energy and mechantronics.
A grant signing ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Friday at 3833 Sala Way.
White Rock Bank recently hired Derek Kuglin as its credit analyst. He previously worked for Central Bank, headquartered out of Stillwater, Minn.
White Rock Bank has locations in Red Wing, Cannon Falls, Goodhue, White Rock and Bellechester and has assets of $150 million.
Carquest Auto Parts of Red Wing moved a few months back from its old location 909 Main St. to its new home at 1015 Main St.

Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce will hold Business After Hours from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Smokin' Oak Restaurant.
