The workshop will explain how cover crops can reduce nitrogen inputs, prevent weed growth, hold soil in place and increase infiltration, among other things.

A panel of local farmers will share their experiences with cover crops and an overview presentation will be given by Extension's Jill Sackett and the Natural Resource Conservation Service's Tom Coffman.

A pizza supper will be provided. Pre-registration is requested to allow for an accurate meal count.

To register, contact Mike Donnelly with the Rice County Extension Office at 507-332-6109 or donne099@umn.edu.
