Cannon Falls' Emi Trost crushed the field Tuesday, completing her four-kilometer run in 14 minutes, 35.5 seconds to take top honors at the Plainview-Elgin-Millville/Jodi Rahman Invitational. Trost was nearly two minutes ahead of second-place Emmy Buntrock of Dover-Eyota.
Katherine Hoffman (17:09.4) placed 14th for the Bombers, who placed third as a team with 112 points. Payton Cooper finished one spot behind Hoffman in 17:14.4.
Dover-Eyota won the team event with 32 points while the host Bulldogs came in second with 83 points.
Goodhue came in 12th with 290 points, led by Cassandra Voth’s 19th-place finish of 17:28.3.
The Goodhue boys came in 13th as Ryan Alpers (20:03.2) and Joel Gadient (20:07.2) came in 53rd and 54th, respectively. The Wildcats totaled 352 points, far behind P-E-M’s first-place total of 60.
Bjorn Pearson led Cannon Falls with a 23rd-place finish in 18:43.5 while Karl Ritzman finished 24th with a time of 18:44.7. The Bomber boys did not run with a compete team, making them ineligible for the team contest.
