New regional handbell group forming
Bells of the Bluffs is a new community handbell ensemble open to anyone in the Red Wing area. Marilee Anderson, minister of music at First Lutheran Church, will be the director.
The purpose is to promote musical excellence through handbells by challenging interested ringers to tackle more difficult works. The group also will work to promote an appreciation and understanding of handbells.

Head to the Twins game with St. Paul's
St. Paul's Lutheran Church will send a bus to the June 11 Twins Game against the Phillies. Cost is $40, which includes bus, ticket to the game, a hotdog and pop.
There are a limited number of tickets are available. Those interested should contact the church office at 651-388-7106. Payment is due when signing up.
Antique Appraisal Show planned in Lake City
First Lutheran Church, Lake City, will hold the Antique Appraisal Show from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday June 11 at the church,
100 Peace Ridge Road.
People can have one to three items appraised. The suggested donation is $5.
There will be free refreshments. Supper will be available for nominal fee. Spectators are welcome.
Sunday supper will be served
Sunday Supper/Loaves and Fishes is a full meal prepared and served free of charge and open to everyone. It is being served at 5 p.m. Sunday June 9 at the First United Methodist Church, 403 East Ave.
Food fundraisers benefit mission trip
Youths of English Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, will hold two fundraisers this month. They will operate the Coke stand at Nilssen's from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 13-15. They also will sell desserts and soft pretzels during the Ellsworth Cheese Curd Festival June 28-30. Proceeds will benefit a youth mission trip.
Help feed the hungry
First Lutheran Church, Red Wing, will support Feed My Starving Children by packaging food from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday June 15 in Eagan, Minn. People must sign up at the church.
Those carpooling will leave at 10:15 a.m. Sign up at the information desk.
Help make prayer shawls
People who knit or crochet are invited to help make prayer shawls. They are blessed in prayer and made available to those who need healing and encouragement.
Groups will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday June 13 at 1845 Bohmbach Drive; 5:30 p.m. Tuesday June 18 at English Lutheran Church, Ellsworth; and 5:30 p.m. Thursday June 20 at First Lutheran Church, Red Wing.
