Watch the Ham-Nye creation debate at New River New River Assembly of God will air the live debate of Dr. Ken Ham and Bill Nye at 6 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 4. Please bring a friend and join us.

A creationist, Ham is president and CEO of the Christian apologetics ministry Answers in Genesis. Nye, an evolutionist, is the former host of “Bill Nye the Science Guy.”

The debate generated so much interest that tickets for the Cincinnati event sold out in two minutes.

Musicians sought for Holy Week performance Do you love to sing or play an instrument? Then join in presenting the annual community Holy Week service in Red Wing. Last year, musicians from 22 area churches took part.

The first rehearsal will be 4:15 p.m. Feb. 23 at First Covenant Church. The service will be at 7 p.m. April 13, Palm Sunday.

Women’s retreat planned at St. Joe’s All women are invited to a morning retreat titled "In God's Hands" at 9 a.m. Saturday Feb. the Church of St. Joseph Holy Family Hall. This retreat is sponsored by Women Sharing Deeper Ministry and is offered free of charge.

Children’s activities offered Sunday morning Sunday Jan. 26 is movie/game day at First Lutheran Church, Red Wing. This will be in place of Sunday school from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m.

The congregation’s annual meeting will take place at the same time.

Faith in Action seeks drivers Faith in Action is looking for volunteers to drive individuals to various appointments. If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, call 651-385-3290. The office is located at 1407 W. Fourth St.

Those people who need rides also can call that number. Requests must be made two days in advance of services, and rides will depend on availability of drivers.
