Cherryl Ray Oliver, 71
Cherryl Oliver, 71, Red Wing, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 25, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Marys Campus in Rochester, Minn.
Born on May 31, 1942, in St. James, Minn., to Arol and Delores (Walrod) Shellum; she attended country school in Madelia, Minn., and graduated from high school in Georgia in 1960.
She and her twin sister Farryl owned and operated Deden's Cafe in Goodhue for over 20 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed family road trips and going to the casino.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; three children, Bryan (Sue) Bolland of Red Wing, Missy (Jan) Prigge of Waseca, and David (Laura) Bolland of Red Wing; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Jill (Danny) Johnson; and brother, Scott (Karleen) Shellum, all of Red Wing, and Larry (Colleen) DeWall of Dennison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother Jeannette Shellum; twin sister, Farryl Owens; stepbrothers Duane, and Lynel DeWall; and stepsister Judy Larson.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 31, at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Brian Scott officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a private burial later in the spring.
